Dinner – Pork Belly Chinese style

Pork is a rich source of many different vitamins and minerals including thiamin, zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, niacin, phosphorus, and iron.

Pork belly is a very cheap cut of meat, it’s ideal for an LCHF meal as its naturally fatty.

This recipe feeds 2 adults and 2 young children. If you like Chinese food, you will love this. Never again will you want to go to the local takeaway, which is often full of MSG and other nasty ingredients. Also perfect cooked the night before.

  • 1 large knob of  fresh ginger, grated
  • 2  or 3 cloves of garlic, grated
  • 100ml of water
  • 30ml of Tamari (wheat free soy)
  • 800g of pork belly
  • 1 red chilli chopped (optional)

Preheat your oven to 140 deg C.

Place all the ingredients into an oven proof pot. Bring to a simmer on the hob for about 10 minute, ensure everything is mixed well.

Transfer to the oven for 2 hours. Add the chilli at the end. Bingo, its all sticky and delicious!

Serve with greens – cabbage of any type is great with it.
