This is an extremely interesting article on the impact of exercise on weight loss
From my own personal experience, this all rings so very true. Diet is the key contribution to weight gain or loss. Cut the carbohydrates, cut the weight gain and progression towards metabolic syndrome. Eat Real Food!
I made this real frozen yoghurt inspired by the new book I have just bought from Real Meal Revolution. It’s cook book aimed at children.
It’s a really good alternative to commercial ice cream and went down a treat. You do need to allow extra time to soften from the freezer though! It does come out quite hard.

Ingredients:
300 g of raspberries or strawberries, mashed
1 tsp of lemon juice
a pinch of salt
1 500g tub of full fat Greek Yoghurt
Method:
Line a suitable tin with cling film. Roughly mix all the ingredients together and place in the tin. Pop into the freezer and stir in the tin every 20 minutes or so until it is starting to freeze. This is to prevent large ice crystals forming.
Once you are ready to eat it, leave it out for about 15 minutes before you need to serve to allow to thaw a little. This is because there are no artificial ingredients there to keep ‘soft while frozen’ like commercially produced frozen yoghurts and ice creams.
Top with berries or very dark chocolate shavings.
