Easter Eggs

This is a nice 5 minute video to help you better understand what a carbohydrate is .  It explains very simply how excessive carbohydrate consumption leads to insulin resistance. It makes you think twice about eating so called healthy food such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes.

On the other hand one of the most nutritious foods on the planet is an egg.

Eggs were demonised in the 80’s as being a major risk factor for heart disease without proper scientific trials to prove that was the case. However, properly controlled studies show that for people who eat several eggs per day , good HDL cholesterol goes up and harmful triglycerides go down.

Eggs are such a versatile food. Boil them, fry them (in healthy fats), poach them, scramble them …the list goes on. They are suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner and are fantastic for satiety. They are a superb food especially for growing children.

Only the chocolate Easter ones don’t comply 🙂
