Damon Gameau from Australia recently did a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body. He consumed only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’, such as low fat yoghurt, muesli bars, juices and cereals (no fizzy drinks, chocolate etc). And it sure did take its toll on him in a very negative way.
Damon highlights where sugar lurks on supermarket shelves. He has published THAT SUGAR FILM which will forever change the way you think about so called ‘healthy’ food and what you feed to your children. Check out his website.
Todays recipe is a dessert. Sometimes it’s nice to have one, here’s one that is relatively low carb and quick to make. It serves 4.
Ingredients:
- 2 cooking apples
- 100 ml of fresh cream, whipped
- Toasted nut/seed muesli mix (see previous recipe)
Method:
Peel and core the apples and roughly chop. Stew with a couple of tablespoons of water until softened.
Divide the stewed apple between 4 bowls, add a handful of toasted seeds/nuts and a dollop of cream and its ready to eat.
